Each year, the PTO uses funds raised from the Annual Appeal and other fundraising efforts to provide enrichment opportunities to FRR students. Teachers and school staff request enrichment grants each fall, and typically we fill over 200 requests and spend over $50,000 on student enrichment.

Here are some grant examples:

• Buses for all field trips (an average of $1,200 per grade per field trip)

• Yellow tulip bulbs for the yearly kindergarten bulb-planting activity

• Magna-tiles and doll house furniture for first grade classrooms

• Print and digital subscriptions to Scholastic News for all second grade students 

• Seeds, seedlings, and compost for the FRR Garden

• Datebook planners for all middle school students

• Third grade classroom visits from an Indigenous museum educator discussing the Wampanoag People, native to Brookline

• Weighted blankets, fidget toys, and flexible seating for students with sensory needs

• Scoreboard for use during intramural sports games
